Richard Sullivan

  • Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on December 17, 1936
  • 1954 - Graduated from Tulsa Central High School
  • 1958 - Graduated from University of Tulsa - BSBA in Accounting
  • 1958 to 1964 - Partner in the Public Accounting Firm of  T.I. Sullivan & Son
  • 1962 - Called to active duty with the Oklahoma Air National Guard during the Cuban Missile Crisis -   Completed 14 years of service with the ANG and retired with the rank of Major.
  • 1964 - Joined the CPA firm of Daniel, Daniel, Ennis & Company
  • 1967 - Passed the CPA Exam
  • 1968 - Became a partner in the CPA firm of Daniel, Daniel, Ennis & Company (Regional firm with   offices in Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Denver)
  • 1969 - Daniel, Daniel, Ennis & Company merged with national CPA firm of Hurdman and Cranstoun
  • 1975 to present - Withdrew from partnership of Hurdman and Cranstoun to establish CPA firm of   Sullivan & Associates, PLLC

While Richard was a partner with the national CPA firm of Hurdman & Cranstoun, he was a member of the Firm's "National Tax Committee" as well as the "National Professional Education and Training Committee," and was responsible for implementing the "National Tax Training Course" for the firm's staff auditors.

Over the last 30 years, he has specialized in business valuations and expert witness in various types of litigation.  That expertise is widely known in the legal and accounting communities in Tulsa.  He has presented seminars on Business Valuations and Tax Effects of Divorce.

He served as organizer and member of the Board of Directors of the former Village South National Bank. He also serves as a mentor in the Tulsa Central High School mentor program, and he is a sponsor of the Central High School "Key Club".

He was active as an officer and director of the University of Tulsa Alumni Board of Directors for a number of years.  He also served as an officer, a director and a founder of "Rainbow House", which was a non-profit agency organized to help prevent child abuse.  It was subsequently merged with Family and Children's Services.  He has been a member of the Downtown Tulsa Kiwanis Club since 1963 and has participated in numerous civic activities sponsored by that club over the years, one of which is staging and producing the Miss Oklahoma Pageant.  For over 30 years, he has served as auditor of the Judges' ballots for the Miss Oklahoma Pageant.
